The selection process for the Christ University Bachelor of Arts (Communication and Media, English/Honours/Honours with Research) program at the Bangalore Central Campus consists of two stages:

Stage 1: Entrance Exam

All applicants are required to appear for the Entrance Test conducted by Christ University. The exam is called the Christ University Entrance Test (CUET) and it is a computer-based test. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and it consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from the following sections:

1. English Language, Comprehension Skills, Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Ability
2. General Knowledge, Current Affairs
3. Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical Ability, Fundamental Mathematical Operations
4. Reasoning: Critical, Analytical and Logical

The total number of questions is 120 and each question carries 1 mark, making the total marks for the exam 120. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. The questions are designed to test the candidate’s language proficiency, general knowledge, and analytical skills.

Stage 2: Skill Assessment — Micro Presentation and Personal Interview

Candidates who clear the entrance test will be called for a Skill Assessment which consists of a Micro Presentation (MP) and Personal Interview (PI). This stage is further divided into two parts:

Micro Presentation: Candidates will be given a topic and they will be asked to present their views on it for 90 seconds. The panel will evaluate the candidate’s communication skills, confidence, and presentation abilities.

Personal Interview: This round aims to understand the candidate’s academic readiness, passion for the chosen program, and overall suitability for the university. Candidates will be assessed on their knowledge, analytical ability, communication skills, and general awareness.

Final Selection

The final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the CUET, Skill Assessment (MP and PI), past academic records, and work experience (if any). The weightage given to each component is as follows:

CUET-60%, Skill Assessment (MP+PI)- 20%, Past Academic Records- 10%, Work Experience- 5%, Extra-Curricular Activities- 5%.

If there is a tie between two or more candidates, preference will be given to the candidate with a higher score in the entrance test, followed by better academic records, and finally based on the date of birth (older candidates will be given preference).

The final selection results will be announced on the official website of Christ University. Selected candidates will be required to secure their admission by paying the fees before the given deadline.
