The selection process for Christ University’s Bachelor of Arts (Political Science/Honours/Honours with Research) program at the Bangalore Bannerghatta Road Campus follows a holistic and comprehensive approach, taking into consideration the academic performance, personal interview, and other factors.
Step 1: Application Form
The first step of the selection process involves filling out the application form for the program. The form can be obtained either online or offline and must be submitted with all the required documents.
Step 2: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the program, which includes:
– Pass in Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
– A minimum of 60% marks in English.
Step 3: Entrance Test
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for the Christ University Entrance Test (CUET), which will consist of multiple-choice questions and an essay writing section. The test will assess the candidate’s general knowledge, analytical and logical reasoning skills, and proficiency in English language.
Step 4: Personal Interview
Shortlisted candidates based on the performance in the entrance test will be called for a personal interview conducted by the university. This interview aims to assess the candidate’s communication skills, subject knowledge, and overall personality.
Step 5: Weightage Calculation
The final selection will be based on the following weightage:
Entrance Test — 60%
Personal Interview — 20%
Class 12 marks — 15%
Essay Writing — 5%
Step 6: Merit List
Based on the candidates’ performance in the entrance test, personal interview, and other factors, the university will prepare a merit list. Candidates who make it to the merit list will be considered for admission.
Step 7: Admission Offer
Candidates who are offered admission must pay the stipulated admission fee to confirm their seat in the program. The fee can be paid online or through a demand draft in favor of Christ University, payable at Bangalore.
Candidates who are unable to secure admission in the first list can wait for the subsequent lists, subject to the availability of seats.
